Elliote Hope Turns 1!

Welcome to the Barker Family's blog. This is a carry over from the blog that we have been using on the "About my Baby" web site. We have decided to start using blog spot as we have a bit more freedom in how we can post our blog updates as well as the fact that we can share our pictures and videos directly from the postings. On January 17th, 2009 we celebrated Elliote Hope's first birthday. I simply don't know where the year has gone, as the time sure has flown, but our little baby is now a one year old. Her Grandma and Grandpa, Oma and Opa, Great Aunt Wilma, Great Uncle Ralph, Great Aunt Ruth Ann, Aunt Ann and Aunt Katie all came to celebrate with us.

Elliote really didn't get into "smashing" her cake...or actually eating much of it at all (she was FAR more interested in the spoon she had in her hands) but she did finally agree to try it:

Then we moved on to opening presents. One of Elliote's biggest reaction came from when she open her Elmo Live doll:

It was a really wonderful day, even if we are still a little bit in shock that our sweet little baby is now "officially" a 1 year old!
